Good Morning, YMG family,
Here is a recap of our sessions this week on Tuesday, December 3rd, and Thursday, December 5th.
We focused on Chapter 2: The Law of Awareness from our curriculum. The central theme is that you must know yourself to grow yourself. A powerful quote we reflected on was from James Russell Lowell: “No one can produce great things who is not thoroughly sincere in dealing with himself.”
We discussed the three types of people in the world:
1. Those who don’t know what they would like to do.
2. Those who know what they would like to do but don’t do it.
3. Those who know what they would like to do and take action to make it happen.
We emphasized that passion leads to growth, and growth requires identifying both your strengths and weaknesses. By embracing your weaknesses, you create opportunities to work on and improve them. We leaned on one of our guiding principles: Maturity does not begin with age, but with the acceptance of responsibility.
The steps for meaningful change were a focus throughout the week:
1. Awareness – Recognizing where you are and where you want to be.
2. Acceptance – Being honest with yourself about your current state.
3. Action – Taking steps to move forward.
We discussed strategies as a collective to help deal with distractions and stay on track, focusing on the importance of awareness, action, accountability, and attraction. These four elements are crucial for doing what we need to do to reach our goals.
When we meet again, we will dive into Chapter 3: The Law of the Mirror. The focus will be on the principle that you must see value in yourself to add value to yourself.
As always, we encourage every young man to stay intentional in their growth journey and continue developing strategies to overcome challenges. Let’s keep pushing forward and building on this momentum together!
